Leviticus chapter 10.

Here we read of the death of Aaron's two sons because they did an unauthorized offering before the Lord. So God killed them. What were their attitude or thought process that they came to the conclusion that they didn't have to obey God's commands? Or maybe I should be asking, what is my attitude when I think I don't have to obey God? The answer is my attitude is selfish. When I get caught up with a selfish attitude, I disobey God or make decisions that hurt my relationship with God and others and end up hurting God, others and myself. How dare these two sons and how dare me to think that being unholy before God is okay!! I should have been killed long ago based on these principles. But Thank you God for grace and mercy and for giving me chances to repent and change.

They were removed from the presence of the Lord and taken outside. They were unclean or unholy. Thank God we can be reunited by changing our heart and attitude from selfishness and pride to humility and brokenness. We can approach God then for forgiveness. To not change my heart and attitude is to become ineffective for the Lord. If we want to be affective in ministry in presenting truth to others, we need to be right before the Lord. People are not stupid for they will see our hypocrisy.

Lord, show me my attitude and heart and where I need to change. What are my obstacles that are hurting my relationship with you? Break me, if need be, so I'm right before you.
