Exodus chapter 10.
God asked the question through Moses which was directed to Pharaoh. How long will you refuse to humble yourself?
I have learned in my mind but not always in my heart the value and the importance of being totally humble before God. Any sense of pride is the way for shutting the door to God's Holy Spirit. If we want to have an ineffective marriage then be prideful. If we want to have an ineffective Ministry, then be prideful. If we want to have an ineffective workplace, then be prideful. Humility is when we surrender everything to God so his Holy Spirit can help us become the men and women we are to be with our spouces. He helps us to develop in the character that we need in order to be effective in Ministry. He helps us to gain the wisdom that we need so that we are effective in our job and in our relationships. Dear God forgive me of my pride and help me to always be humble before you. Amen!

Great opening PB
Another place I’ve become humbled is coaching sports teams. It’s easy to get caught up in winning and thinking it’s all about me, when actually I’m doing Gods work. I wouldn’t be where I’m at if God didn’t already have this planned out for me.
Another point I got out of this mornings readings is that Pharaoh was trying to make deals… First just the men out to pray ….then the men and women…. There is no deals when God speaks
Well said Brian!!
There is no testimony without tests or trials. Our testimony comes from our personal experiences and what God has done in our lives. God told Moses to tell his children and his grandchildren about the signs He performed. Thank you for reminding us, Lord, to do the same.
Pride is such an ugly thing! The stubbornness and pride of one man has resulted in so much devastation as we see that Pharaoh allowed Egypt to be completely ruined from the many plagues that God had sent to show His power. Pharaoh had been warned, but he was so used to getting his own way that he must have thought that he could negotiate with Moses. Moses tells Pharaoh how it had to be when he said that not a hoof shall be left behind. Pharaoh’s actions remind me of what we read in Proverbs 16:18. “Pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall.”
I certainly am struggling with pridefulness right now. After feeling hurt and criticized by a colleague I felt was a close friend, I have hardened my heart to her and let my pride get the best of me. I avoid her at all costs, am very awkward around her, try not to have much conversation with her and have really just shut her out. All this while I am still my happy cheerful self with other coworkers. As I’ve read these chapters with pharaoh, I’ve thought – how could pharaoh continue to have a hardened heart when he sees the destruction and devastation throughout Egypt… I have had forgiving this coworker on my heart and changing my attitude towards her for some time now, but have not been able to do it. I know it is time to do it… I ask you all to pray for me as I work to be Christlike instead of Pharaohlike…
