Exodus chapter 3.
Moses went from being a leader in Egypt getting what he wanted to all of a sudden becoming a Shepherd, a job despised by Egyptians. But God Was preparing Moses for a job. So God had him tending sheep so he could learn leadership skills and build Godly qualities and character. We never know when or where God will speak to us. And we never know for sure what he will ask of us. When God calls us into a new direction or new position or new job or new ministry, it can catch us off-guard and we could initially start to make excuses as to why we can't do it. For example, I'm not good enough. I'm not qualified. I have a physical or mental or social problems or other shortcomings. I'm afraid because I fear I won't be able to handle the challenges that come before me. For me at Edinboro Camp, I have felt probably all the above excuses and emotions. A friend of mine said to me, God doesn't call the qualified, he qualifies the called. If God calls us in a given area, then he will equip us and teach us to be able to carry out what he has called us too. And he promises he will never leave us but will be with us.

Hey gang! So Sorry for not having the last couple chapters posted on time. I’ll try not to make it a habit. I enjoy so much all of you who participate and enjoy those of you who make comments. It is so encouraging and inspiring! I love you all!!!! THANK YOU!!!
Moses has become a shepherd and one day has an incredible encounter with God at a fire where a bush isn’t burned! God tells him how He has seen the suffering and heard the cry of His people. God’s plan is to use Moses and set them free! God called Moses to do an important job and He calls us to do important jobs too!
This is one of those chapters that I can chew and digest all day – there is so much here!! God’s perfect timing in Moses’ life. 40 years as somebody in Egypt; 40 years as nobody in the desert wilderness as a shepherd; the last 40 years called by God and spent as a model for everyone.
The burning bush – we are reminded that God uses all kinds of people and common stuff to speak to us. (See 1 Cor 1:26-29) If your parents, spouse, sibling, or friend beside you is a believer, the Lord may use them to speak to you. Just like the bush they may not be on fire but as believers, they have the fire in them. Take the time to stop and check it out like Moses did. Lord, may we have eyes to see, ears to hear, and feet that stop to receive the light and warmth from the bushes you have placed around us.
“I am Who am”
enough said
When I listened to this chapter when the narrator got to this statement he paused , then with a more commanding voice ,Says You tell them “I am who I am.” Period.
when I stumble it’s good to know the almighty God is in charge.
He gave us a warm & beautiful Sunday
How easy it is to feel like Moses. Who am I? Why would you choose me? What should I say?
In the past I’ve heard this chapter referenced, you hear people comment about “the burning bush” and I never really understood it because I haven’t done a complete bible study. I appreciate all the knowledge I have from reading Genesis. I look forward to getting to know Moses better as I have all the people God has shown us through His word up until this point!
