Many Blessings to You! Genesis chapter 4. Adam and Eve have children, Cain and Abel. Each of them had their own responsibilities. Overtime God confronted Cain and told him to repent (turn from his evil ways – his sins) and if he did he would find favor with God. God warned Cain to repent or else it would rule over him. And God wanted to rule over Cain and not his sin rule over him. But Cain gives in to sin and its desires and plans a time to kill Abel. When God asked Cain where his brother was, Cain responded with an attitude and lies to God. As a result of his actions God gives Cain consequences. Because every decision has its own consequences. Cain’s consequences were: he was cursed. He would have to work harder for food. And he was removed to another land.

God, out of love for us, will bring circumstances in our lives to help us to get on the right path with him. There are times we are going to need to repent from sin. God desires us to repent and to get in a right standing with him. God warns us of consequences if we don't repent. We can't let sin control over our lives. We must yield to the Holy Spirit and allow his empowerment to rule over us. If we do not yield to the Holy Spirit, and we do not repent, there will be consequences. They may be devastating consequences. They may be embarrassing. They may hurt, not just us, but others around us including our loved ones. God loves us and wants our lives to be blessed and not cursed. What is lurking in our hearts or maybe already ruling in our hearts that we need to repent from right now before we face devastating consequences?
