Daily Bible Challenge: Day 620 Psalms Chapter 142

In this particular psalm, the psalmist shares how he can tell his complaints and troubles to the Lord. And that he really cares for him. I've heard people testify about how they are so close to their mother, or so close to a friend, that they can tell them everything. Both good and bad they can share and that their friend is so supportive and encouraging, and is always there for them.

What I'd like us to realize is that God wants to be that kind of friend to us. It starts with a relationship with Jesus but after that he wants to hear all about all our complaints and troubles. He wants us to share it all because he cares about us and wants to be our refuge. He wants us to give him the opportunity, by faith, believing that he can help us through difficulties and provide answers to all our problems. He does so sometimes in miraculous ways. But if we don't share, I fear we miss opportunities for God to work in and through our lives.

There's nothing wrong in having that friend or person that you can share everything with because we all need support and encouragement. But the Lord does not want to be left out of the picture. Take it to him first and allow His Holy Spirit to meet us with what we need.

What's awesome is when we go to our friend or someone comes to us to share, and we take their complaint and troubles to the Lord with them. We point them to Christ because we as a friend recognize that Christ is the answer. And in doing so, we find that God gives us wisdom sometimes that they need at that given time. Regardless let's be like the psalmist and take everything to God first and allow him through the Holy Spirit to work how he wants to: whether through a miracle, through a friend, or however he wants.
