Psalm chapter 52. There's Always Hope.
Blessings my dear friends!
This chapter talks about all kinds of evil going on. It talks about those who boast of evil. Who love evil and falsehood. They love deceit and plot destruction. Their words are destructive. It speaks of those who put their trust in their wealth and even take joy in destroying the lives of others in order to gain for themselves.
But the chapter ends with a warning. God will eventually respond with his destruction to evil. And when he responds, outsiders will see how evil is defeated.
There are three key things the psalmist focuses on which we all need to focus on:
1. God's love is unfailing. It's always available. It doesn't matter what surrounds us or what we've done, God's love is always available.
2. The psalmist is so grateful of this unfailing love, he declares that he will praise God always. What amazing truth to hold onto… God loves us always!
3. Lastly, the psalmist declares that he can put his hope in the Lord. I don't have to feel hopeless in an evil environment. I am not defeated by evil. I am not overcome by evil. I don't have to give in to evil when it tries to overtake me and get me to conform to it. There is hope in Jesus. There is always hope in Jesus. No matter where we're at in life, whether we've stayed faithful or we have failed with our life testimony, there is always hope in Jesus. Always. Always. Always.
