Psalm chapter 41. Help the weak.
Good morning everyone!!!
Prayers have already gone out for you today.
Verse 1 starts off with, “Blessed are those who regard the weak.”
This is the heart of God. But who are the weak?
1. I'm reminded of the beatitudes in Matthew 5:3-4. It speaks of the poor in spirit and those who mourn.
2. I'm also reminded of Matthew 25:31-46. It talks about meeting the needs of the hungry, thirsty, strangers, the naked, the sick, and those in prison.
3. I'm most reminded of the many many many verses that say we must look out for the widow and orphans.
In looking out for the weak then requires Great sacrifice and willingness to give up things that we have of our own for the sake of those around us who are struggling and hurting.
I suppose if you want to get technical, perhaps it could be said the weak are our neighbors, those whom God has put into our paths. The second greatest commandment is to love others as we love ourselves.
Again I ask, who are the Weak?
Perhaps it could be said just about everybody for we live in a broken and fallen world filled with hurting people. People struggling and hurting inside and hiding behind the mask of HAPPINESS. People are struggling with addictions, broken families, broken marriages, past hurts, abuse, rejection, the inability to have children, miscarriages, financial problems, and the list goes on. Our focus should be on learning to love people and get to know them because we don't know what their life really is all about. We often look at the behavior to determine if one is worthy of our love while their bad behaviors are only evidence of a deeper hurt they are hiding inside. Get to know them, then their behavior begins to make sense. Get to know them because it's then you get to find their true hurts and are able to reach out to them and show them the love of Christ. And begin to put hope back into their lives. Lord, I pray you help me help someone today who is weak.

We read in verse 11 that the “enemy will not shout in triumph over me” and I’m thankful for the fact that’s true because of what Jesus did on the cross for us. We may sometimes be weak, but He is always strong!
