Psalm chapter 27. Being consumed with God.
As a read this chapter, I think of someone who is totally in love with the Lord and consumed with Him. The psalmist looks to the Lord as his light, salvation, and stronghold.
The psalmist also says that his greatest desire is to be with the Lord forever.
The psalmist says that he wants God to teach him his truth and to lead him in the right paths.
If this became our greatest desire, to make God truly our light, salvation, stronghold, and if our greatest desire was to be with the Lord forever wanting nothing but to learn more and more of his ways and his truth so that we would walk the right paths, if these things were truly what we hungered for and were consumed with, I know our lives would change.
Think of how much more we would pray or read Scriptures! Think of how much more we'd want to be in church fellowshipping with God and His people. Think of how much more we'd want to lead others with truth! Or how much more often we would want our daily thoughts to center around the Lord! Or how much more often we'd want to be taught God's word and Truth so that every decision or thought we made would reflect his righteousness.
Lord, show me how my life can change as I pursue you with all my heart wanting nothing more than you!

If I had a favorite Psalm, this would definitely be it. The Lord is my light and my salvation. Lord, help us to keep our focus on this truth in light of the chaos around us.
This whole chapter reminded me of Romans 8:31.
“What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?”
