Psalm Chapter 10. Arrogance is a killer!
The psalmist is frustrated with those who act with arrogance. Verse 13 says,
“Why does the wicked Man revile God? Why does he say to himself, God won't hold me accountable!”
Arrogance is destructive in many ways:
1. People suffer from one who is arrogant. Arrogance is so concerned of self that it doesn't care what the needs of others are. It doesn't care if others are taken advantage of. It becomes a game, a challenge, a thrill for the arrogant one when they devise evil against others.
2. Arrogance hurts one's relationship with God. Arrogance not only makes one think they are above others, it makes one feel they are above God. It blows my mind to think someone can get to the point where one thinks they are above God, I don't need God, God doesn't see their evil, and God won't hold them accountable. As a result, this relationship with God is nonexistent.
3. Arrogance kills the soul of the arrogant one. God's final judgement will finally fall upon the arrogant ones. They may feel they can get away with their selfish arrogant ways on Earth, but when judgment Day comes before the Lord, their consequences will finally come. Destruction and separation from God will be their destination. Hell will become their home. What a rude awakening it will be at that time, but then it's too late. It's too late to cry out for God's salvation. It's too late to repent of ones sins.
Sadly, arrogance hits us all. Perhaps some more than others. It comes in different forms and can be both appalling to those who see it, or can be a quiet deadly inward occurrence.
For example, I can be appalled at one's observed arrogance and feel better than they are. But what about the times when I boast quietly to myself that I did a good job. As if to be saying, “Look at me everybody. Look how great I am. Look at all my accomplishments.” And we forget about God's power and our God-given abilities. That apart from the Lord, we can do nothing, John 15:5-6.
Let us be careful with accusations we make against others lest we become blind to our own arrogance.
Lord, may my life be all about you and not all about me.

I read this chapter on Father’s Day today and saw in verse 14 about how God is the helper to the fatherless.
We also read the following in Psalm 68:5.
Father of the fatherless and protector of widows is God in His holy habitation.
