Psalm Chapter 6. I feel worthless.
Chapter 6 is a Psalm of David.
1. He's praying to God for Mercy, healing, and deliverance.
2. He's feeling impatient waiting for God's help.
3. He is down so low it's hard for him to worship God and be joyful. He's feeling worthless and of no value.
4. He cries tears day and night! It's eating away at him.
5. His prayer ends with a heart of Hope and Faith. He declares that:
God has heard him.
God will save him.
God will destroy his enemies.
When someone is in anguish over something it's hard to be joyful for the Lord. It's hard to be motivated and excited about praying and reading the Scriptures. It's hard to get focus off from self and onto the needs of others. It's hard to have Hope and Faith for deliverance.  If one is in a low place or depressed, then it's easy to definitely feel worthless and of no value.
Two thoughts:
1. During these low points of our lives, we need to draw near to God all the more. We need to pray for strength to be motivated to stay in the Word. We need God to help us not be so focused on self that we forget about those around us who also are in need. Helping others in these low times can help remind us of our worth and value, especially if we see people blessed by God using us.
2. I don't want to make light of someone's low points. Sometimes they're so low they need serious intervention. They need close friends who can pray and encourage them. Friends who can feed life into them. These individuals may need counseling in order to help sort out truth from lies.
We who are on the outside, need to be aware of our friends and their state of minds. They may be in great need and have isolated themselves from others and from the help of others. We need to be sensitive to the spirits nudging so that we reach out to our friends knowing they'll never reach out to us for help.
