Psalm chapter 2. Be careful!
Psalm chapter 2 is a prophecy of the coming of Christ. And it speaks of the opposition that will come toward him. Yet God gives warnings to those who rise up against him. They have the attitude that the power of God is limited.
Shame on us when we limit the power of God. Shame on us when we feel we will not be held accountable for our sin choices. For this chapter says, when Christ comes, he will defeat and will destroy His enemies. So God gives a warning in verse 11 to “serve the Lord with fear and rejoice with trembling!”
In other words, be careful! Evaluate your heart and your life choices. Do they pursue God's kingdom or do they pursue one's own kingdom?
Let us not quickly forget the consequences that await us when we pursue a life that builds our kingdom and not God's Kingdom!
May we let these known consequences be a motivation to us to stay focused on the King of kings and Lord of lords. May it motivate us to continually pursue Christ and his will and his work for his glory and not our own.

We have a choice as to whom we will serve in this life. This chapter reminded me of what Joshua said in Joshua 24:15.
“And if it is evil in your eyes to serve the Lord, choose this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your fathers served in the region beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.”
