Job Chapter 17.  In Christ Alone.
Job is faced with conflict:
1. He feels beat down.
2. He wants comfort and encouragement but gets none.
3. He's looking for HOPE but uncertain it exists.
Ultimately we must understand that we cannot put our hope and trust in this world. Yes there might be a friend that we can turn to but even our friends are limited in what they can offer. Let us understand there's only one who is faithful and trustworthy and that is God.
We might be beat down, in search of comfort and encouragement, and looking for help and answers to our situation, but our HOPE is Christ alone. Let us pursue him with all our hearts!
Let's turn to the Lord first and not as a last resort. Let's put our faith and trust in him immediately versus waiting until every other option has failed or let us down.
1st Peter 5:6-11 says:
“Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time. Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.  Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that the family of believers throughout the world is undergoing the same kind of sufferings.  And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast. To him be the power for ever and ever. Amen.”
Read those verses again and let God speak to you regarding your current situations.
