Job Chapter 11. Advice with Humility.
Good morning Everyone!!! Giving thanks to God today for you all!
Job's 3rd friend, Zophar, begins to speak to Job. This is Job's 3rd friend to declare Job a sinner before God explaining that's why Job is suffering.
We need to be careful of the advice we give others. We can't make so many assumptions:
1. We can't assume that we know a man's heart without evidence.
2. We can't assume that because we aren't in a current state of suffering that we are more qualified to give advice.
— to make such assumptions could easily lead to pride and arrogance and once pride and arrogance settles into our heart then:
A. Compassion, mercy and understanding is eliminated from our advice.
B. It becomes very easy to look down upon those who are hurting rather than come alongside them and suffer with them and cry with them.
C. The council we give will not be Spirit lead and we'll miss the voice of God. As a result our council becomes more damaging then helpful.
Just as we need humility and a broken heart in our everyday walk with the Lord, so must we have humility and a broken heart when we approach others and give counsel. When we do that then we can begin to see people through the eyes of Jesus, hear their words through the ears of Jesus and we'll touch their lives with his heart and his hands. Compassion, mercy and understanding will not be far from us.
Colossians 3:12 is a verse I feel should not be far from us.
Col 3:12 (NIV) ~ “Put on then, as God's chosen ones, holy and beloved, compassionate hearts, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience.”

It appears to me that love might have been an important missing ingredient from what Job’s three friends had to offer him. Here’s a couple more verses that we go on to read in the 3rd chapter of Colossians.
Colossians 3:14-15
And above all these put on love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony. And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body. And be thankful.
