We are starting our second year! Praise the Lord and Hallelujah!!! Let's KEEP doing this together and be encouraged by each other.
First Chronicles chapter 28. Do you REALLY believe?
King David summons all the officials of Israel to let them know that his son Solomon will be building the Temple and it will be done as a team. But he gave Solomon a charge as the soon-to-be king:
- Acknowledge God.
- Serve God with your whole heart.
- Serve God with a willing mind.
- Seek the Lord and you'll find him. But if you reject the Lord he will reject you forever.
Acknowledge God. It's important that we realize there is a God and he created us, he loves us, and has a purpose for our lives.
Serve God. It's not enough to say I believe in God for the devil believes. If we truly acknowledge and believe in God then it should motivate us to want to serve him. We should want to serve him with our whole heart wanting nothing or no one more than we want Jesus. It should drive us to have a willing mind to be what he wants us to be. To go where he wants us to go. And to do whatever he wants us to do.
Seek God verses Rejecting God. To acknowledge God and to believe in God should also motivate us to want to seek him. Jeremiah 29:13 says that we are to seek him with our whole heart because when we seek him with our whole heart we will find him. On the days we feel God is far away, let us go before him knowing that he is real and he will reveal himself in the proper time. Don't reject him. Rejecting isn't just saying verbally I reject you God. Rejection occurs when we choose in life to value other things or other people more than God himself.
Questions:
- Do you really acknowledge that there is a God who created us, who loves us and has a purpose for our lives? Do you truly believe?
- To deny he created us is to question whether or not we have a purpose. It is to deny His love. Once we feel we are not truly loved or have a purpose, then one's outlook on life becomes negative, or hopeless and suicide becomes more prevalent.
- Let us then believe in this God so that we truly surrender Our lives to him. Let us serve him with our whole heart and serve him with a willing mind. What is holding us back? Are we seeking God with our whole heart or not? How would our life or Life choices change if we truly seeked God with our whole heart?

I can’t believe it’s been a whole year already! This group has been a huge blessing and I greatly appreciate that accountability and insight that this group has provided!
I love David’s advice to his son, Solomon. Serve Him with a loyal heart and with a willing mind.
I’m so thankful for this group and the encouragement shared as we journey through the Bible together!
I couldn’t help, but think back today about when Joshua was taking over after Moses had been in charge for so long. Moses had lead the Israelites out of slavery and they were just about to enter into the promised land and then it was time for Joshua to take the lead. I think this was a similar situation with David and Solomon as the temple was being planned for construction. David had been king for so long and he wanted to build the temple, but this would be a job for his son, Solomon. Moses wanted Joshua to succeed just as David wanted Solomon to succeed. The plans were all set and the time had come!
Maybe you are facing some challenge or put into a new leadership role that might feel intimidating or overwhelming for you to be in.
We can remember that God is always with us as we read in Joshua 1:9.
“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”
