I read Chapter 26 yesterday thinking I was reading chapter 25. So my blog yesterday says chapter 25, but is actually chapter 26. I went back and changed yesterday to the real chapter 25 and today is the real chapter 26. Hopefully that wasn't too confusing.
First Chronicles chapter 26. Are you capable?
In this chapter we see the division of the Levites for the positions of Gatekeepers and Treasurers. I'd like to highlight three comments made about these men:
1. Some were leaders because they were very capable men.
2. Some were hard workers. And
3. It says they searched for capable men.
As I think of ministries today within the church it seems people are not knocking down doors and getting in line for Ministry positions. I feel like men are not the spiritual leaders they were many years ago.
– Our nation is bombarded with a value system that says do what makes you feel happy and they degrade our Christian value system.
– Churches are shutting down faster than they are being started.
– There is an increase in broken homes without fathers.
– More and more kids are being raised in single-parent homes or by their grand parents.
As a result of this, it's hard to find leaders and capable men able to carry out Minister duties.
God, I make myself available to you, daily, for the work you have called me to

I was reminded today of what we see in Matthew 9:35-38.
And Jesus went throughout all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues and proclaiming the gospel of the kingdom and healing every disease and every affliction. When He saw the crowds, He had compassion for them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. Then He said to His disciples, “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest.”
Another Bible verse that came to mind is Isaiah 6:8.
And I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send, and who will go for us?” Then I said, “Here I am! Send me.”
