First Chronicles chapter 17. I'm Old, Honored and Willing.
After King David got settled in his palace he realized the Ark of God should not be under a tent while he lived in a palace. The prophet, Nathan, said go with your plans for the Lord is with you. But God spoke to Nathan in the night and said tell David that he is not to build a place for the Lord to dwell in. But rather one of his sons will come and his kingdom will be established and established forever. God seems to be referring to Christ's coming and who will settle in God's house and kingdom forever. David's response to God's words are very humbling and brought King David to respond with praise and exaltation to the Lord. King David could not comprehend how God would want to use him and his relatives for his kingdom.
How do we respond to God's call on our lives? God wants to use us and our relatives or family for his kingdom.
1. Do we respond with humility? I am humbled Lord that you see me fit to be used by you and for your purpose and for your kingdom.
2. Are we honored? Lord, I am honored that you have chosen me and I accept your call for service.
3. Are we willing? Can we say, “Here am I Lord, send me. Teach me and train me and use me oh Lord.”
Hopefully we do not respond with, “Not now God, I'm busy.”
Satan desires to always make us feel less than we are. May we rise above the negative thoughts that run through our minds and rise up with boldness and confidence and believing who we are in Christ and that he can use us for his kingdom.

The idea of building a place for the Lord to dwell in reminded today of Psalm 127:1.
Unless the Lord builds the house, those who build it labor in vain. Unless the Lord watches over the city, the watchman stays awake in vain.
Whatever it is that we may attempt to do on our own will fail unless the Lord is in it.
