Good morning and I hope you're having a good week.
1st Kings chapter 7.
Solomon built the temple of God in 7 years and it took him 13 years to build his palace. A lot of work with a lot of workers. A huge endeavor requiring many people coming together and working together. We know that when people come together on a project there will be problems because people don't get along all the time. There are disputes and trials and tribulations. People have to learn to work together and solve problems together and respect one another especially one's authorities. All this involves open communication, forgiveness, putting hate aside, and be filled with God's love, and being open to other opinions and suggestions over one's own opinions and suggestions.
So the questions I think that are worth evaluating when it comes to working with others in Ministry or job place are:
- How am I when it comes to working with me?
- How am I to get along with?
- Is it all about my thoughts or am I open to the thoughts of others?
- Am I forgiving?
- Am I quick to hate or do I show compassion and love?
- Do I hold grudges?
- Do I gossip?
- Do I try and work things or differences out?

With all of the description of what was being built, I thought of 1 Corinthians 3:9-11.
“For we are God’s fellow workers. You are God’s field, God’s building. According to the grace of God given to me, like a skilled master builder I laid a foundation, and someone else is building upon it. Let each one take care how he builds upon it. For no one can lay a foundation other than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ.”
We who are believers are all part of the living church built with Jesus Christ as our foundation. We each have a role to perform and we need each other as we fit together in our tasks of making His kingdom known here on earth. It is important to work together in harmony whether the current task seems big or small in our eyes. Everything we do and say is a witness to an unbelieving world.
