Good morning Everyone!!! We have completed yet another book of the Bible and now starting First Kings chapter one.  I am very excited to see that we are still doing this and am blessed to have ongoing wisdom shared amongst ourselves.
King David's son, Adonijah, was a spoiled child and he did as he pleased. He even took it amongst himself to declare himself king without asking his father David's permission and blessing.
Such an attitude was eventually shut down as Solomon was declared King by King David. To look at such behavior by Adonijah one would say shame on him for being spoiled and selfish, trying to accomplish things without his father's blessing.
But I wonder how much we Christians do this with our heavenly Father. We can be quick to say shame on Adonijah but how often do we pursue something in our lives without asking for God's direction and blessing?
Some Christians pursue a lasting relationship with a man or woman who are not Christians at all. They don't ask for God's will or blessing.
Jobs or careers are pursued without asking God for his will and blessing because we want what we want.
I'm curious how many decisions I make each day that involve absolutely zero prayers to my father asking for his direction?

I wonder how many problems I face each day and try to take care of it myself: my way vs. God's way?
Lord help me not to be a spoiled child but a faithful and obedient child seeking always for your will and your way from my life.
