Thanks for your input!! Judges chapter 10.
My favorite verse in this chapter is the last verse, verse 18. There's a challenge by the leaders of Gilead. They say whoever will take the lead in attacking the enemy will be head over all who lives in Gilead.
It reminds me of David and Goliath in I Samuel chapter 17, when Goliath taunted Israel and challenged them to come out and fight. Everyone, including the king, were afraid and did nothing. But little David stands up and says I'll go. He was motivated by faith and passion for God's name which was being blasphemed by Goliath. David believed that God would deliver Goliath into his hands for he had seen God deliver wild animals into his hands. He trusted God!
David truly believed in God's ability and spoke with boldness and confidence. He said to Goliath:
- I come against you in the name of the Lord.
- Today the Lord will deliver you into my hands.
- I will strike you down.
- I will cut off your head.
- Today the world will know there is a true God!
I feel like today we have a challenge. Who will dare go into battle, not filled with fear, but with faith and passion and confidence and boldness believing that every obstacle that we face we are capable of overcoming by the hand of the Lord and for his glory?
2nd Corinthians 10:4-5 tells us set that the weapons we fight with are not the weapons of this world. The weapons we use have divine power from God to demolish any stronghold against us. Our greatest weapon is love and not condemnation. Let us be believers who approach obstacles with prayer of faith, living our life with love and boldness and passion without compromising to the pattern of this world but being a bright light that becomes attractive to those around us. Overcoming darkness with the love and the Light of Christ.
Today I declare I will go into battle in faith and confidence believing God can overcome any obstacle that is before me, by his power and for his glory.

We continue to see the cycle of disobedience repeating over and over again. Chapter 10 ends with the leaders of Gilead asking for someone to fight against their enemy and then that person will be put in charge of Gilead. Who will not be lazy, but brave?
We read in Psalm 27:14: “Wait for the Lord; be strong, and let your heart take courage; wait for the Lord!”
The ApologetiX song that I chose for today is People Are Lazy, a parody of People Are Crazy.

13 But you have forsaken me and served other gods, so I will no longer save you. 14 Go and cry out to the gods you have chosen. Let them save you when you are in trouble!”
15 But the Israelites said to the Lord, “We have sinned. Do with us whatever you think best, but please rescue us now.” 16 Then they got rid of the foreign gods among them and served the Lord. And he could bear Israel’s misery no longer.
God is always faithful, even when we are not. The foreign gods we choose to keep in our lives will continue to bring us misery. God doesn’t want to see that. He doesn’t want to see us hurting and turned away from him. He wants to be our one and only God.
I pray we can come to our senses like the Israelites before it’s too late!
