And another good morning guys! Judges chapter 3.
The whole book of Judges will be about Israel doing evil. Being overtaken by the enemy. Crying out to God. God sending a deliver. Then they will experience peace for a period of time. Then it will start all over again with them doing evil before God, etc etc etc.
I don't want to be one who keeps turning from God and doing evil. I want to be a spiritual leader that helps show the way for a life of Deliverance and peace with God, which is through Jesus Christ. Lord help me to be a leader for you resulting in a righteous life for me and encouragement to others in serving you in faithfulness.

Othniel, Ehud and Shamgar are three judges that God used in chapter 3. Israel keeps following the same cycle of turning away from God and then being punished by Him as He allows them to be overtaken, but then they cry for help so they get rescued by God to experience peace for awhile until it starts all over again.
I’m reminded of how we need to be rooted and built up in Jesus so that we aren’t taken captive just as we read about in Colossians 2:6-10.
“Therefore, as you received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him, rooted and built up in Him and established in the faith, just as you were taught, abounding in thanksgiving. See to it that no one takes you captive by philosophy and empty deceit, according to human tradition, according to the elemental spirits of the world, and not according to Christ. For in Him the whole fullness of deity dwells bodily, and you have been filled in Him, who is the head of all rule and authority.”
The ApologetiX song for this chapter is Plump, a parody of Lump.

I’ve been keeping up with my readings … but the devil has been trying to keep me busy , work school, coaching, housework
Snuck right in when I let my Gaurd down , tried to stop me from going to church today
Well, I’m sitting in church …. feeling safe
God wins
The start of judges has been just what has been mentioned above, Israel winning against God, worshipping false gods, forgetting what God did for their ancestors, and then crying out to God for help.
God is showing His mercy by sending judges to show and lead the Israelites back to Him.
It makes me think about different states and communities in our country. Do certain communities go through periods of time where sin is greater and false gods are more prevalent, and then someone comes to lead people in the right direction?
As all the election talk starts up and didn’t beliefs and views are being discussed, I wonder about how some areas in our world and specifically our country, face more hardships, whether that be natural disasters like fires, flooding, etc. I always think is there a correlation with the sin taking place there? Who in the community is being like one of Gods judges to lead the people back to Him?
How can I be like a judge in my own life, with myself and my close friends and family? How do I make choices daily to lead them/myself back to a commitment to the Lord and a less sinful life?
