Good morning America!

Joshua chapter 21.

In this chapter all the land has now been distributed. The priest we're not just given one piece of land to be shared amongst them.  But rather they were spread abroad all the 12 tribes in different cities. These are the men who are going to be spiritual influences for the twelve tribes. It was essential that they be spread out so they could have influence on the whole nation and not just a portion. We all need spiritual influences in our lives! We need the body of Christ the church and we need each other. Hopefully we all have that. If not, then get committed.

Also the end of the chapter it says all the promises God gave to Israel were fulfilled. God gave his promises back when Israel were enslaved by Egypt. He promised them the Promised Land and that they would defeat every enemy and that God would take care of them. From the time that Moses declared Gods coming deliverance to the date that it actually was fulfilled was pretty amazing. I'm sure they never imagined everything that would unfold from Egypt to Promised Land. To look back at it now we can say wow!!

There were miracles. There were trials and tribulations. There were victories and failures. God took care of their physical and spiritual needs. Some made it and some didn't. Even the leadership failed at times.

There's a lot we can learn when we look back.

  1. We really can trust God to take care of us.
  2. God can do miracles.
  3. If we fail, there will be consequences, but we can get up again and get back to God.
  4. We definitely will face trials and tribulations. So expect them.
  5. God will test us to help stretch our faith.
  6. There will always be those who oppose their authority. Beware!
  7. God will take care of us!!!

There's a lot we can learn to help us in our lives. Unfortunately my memory often quickly forgets all these truths whenever I face new trials and tribulations.
