Good morning you guys! Numbers chapter 3. The Levites and their clans were all stationed around the tent of meeting and each had responsibilities in the upkeep of the tent of meeting. In our churches today we are all given spiritual gifts which are to be used within the body of Christ. We have a responsibility to the church and the church is the body of Christ. The Body of Christ is made up of the believers in Christ. That comment sounds like a foreign thought. I feel like most people within the church don't feel any obligation at all to serve within the church. 1st Corinthians 12 and 14 states that each of us are given spiritual gifts which are to be used for the glory of God and for the edification of the church. Each one is given a gift that's to be manifested for the common good within the body of Christ. Can you imagine how powerful the church would be in ministry if each person within the church actually allowed God to use their gifts for his purpose? I'm thinking how many broken people who come to church and leave never getting Ministered too. We could have real healing and real encouragement. Also think of the outreach opportunities. We'd have so many people signing up to help we'd be wondering how we could use everyone. What a great problem to have. Currently we have only 10 to 20% of the people in the church volunteering for service to the Lord. Think how impactful it would be if we had 95 to 100% volunteering to serve within the church. What spiritual gift do you have? Ask your pastor to help you identify your gift and help you determine how you could use your gift within the body of Christ. What talents do you have? This could be a whole range of options. Your talent could be with automobiles, with sports, knitting, crocheting, building things, maintenance, medical-related, and so many many many more ideas. You see even your talents can be used within the body of Christ.
Dear Lord, I don't want to just show up to church and then leave afterwards. I want to be involved! Help me change my schedule if need be, and make you a priority so I can serve in the church with the gifts and talents you have given me. Show me how I can be used so that lives are impacted, so people are edified and encouraged. Lord, I want you to be glorified and see people get saved. In Jesus name amen.

Serving the Lord brings so many blessings! Since the Exodus and prior to this point in our reading, God had instructed every Israelite family in every tribe to dedicate their firstborn son to Him in service. That was a temporary measure. In this chapter God chose the men in the tribe of Levi to be set apart to care for the tabernacle and minister to the people.
This reminds me to be obedient to the Lord’s call even if the direction changes. Sometimes like here, He will ask us to surrender a ministry to someone else – are we gracious in our surrender? If so, He’ll have a new ministry for us if we are obedient, patient and trust in Him. (This is true, recent testimony for me. I struggled early on but though prayer and spending time with the Lord, He helped me learn the lesson that He had for me.)
Yes PB volunteers are hard to find.
I’ve been going to church since 2013, I would go in, sit down and not want to be seen or spoken to, and I was fine with that. But after awhile people started to say hello , ask me how I was, and how school was going, and before I knew it I was excited about church and my church family,
One day Paster Muffett said “everyone sitting here today is a sinner” that hit me hard. I didn’t feel like less of a person anymore.
I’m a coach and gym teacher, so when our church asked for volunteers for Sunday school last year, I felt the call.
I have spoke at graduations and numerous sports functions, but I was never as nervous as I was to teach Sunday school. I did it and I love it!!!!!
The kids are so smart and want to learn, and last week we talked about the priests sacrificing animals and I felt like a pro because we just studied that book in this bible challenge
Have a great day everyone …. use your gift!!!!
Serving the Lord is so important. I appreciate what Jeanine wrote today about being obedient to the Lord’s call even if the direction changes. I recently experienced this in my own life as I came to a point of surrendering a ministry and trusting the Lord to lead me where He wants to. It has been a challenging process to let go of what I have been doing for many years, but I’m holding on to Proverbs 3:5-6. Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make straight your paths.
