Keep being a blessing everyone! Leviticus chapter 15.
We have yet another chapter that discusses things that make a person unclean.
- Discharge from a man or woman.
- Semen from a man.
- Blood from a woman during her period.
- And whoever comes in contact with that person who is unclean.
The key verse for me is verse 31 where God says, “You must keep the Israelites separate from things that make them unclean, so they will not die in their uncleanliness for defiling my dwelling place…”
This verse reminds me of Romans chapter 12 verses 1 and 2 which says, “Therefore, I urge you brothers and sisters, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God which is your spiritual worship. Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world but be transformed by the renewing of your mind then you'll be able to test and approve what God's will is, His good pleasing and perfect will.”
The bodies we offer before God are to be holy and pleasing to him and not unclean. The great way to accomplish this is to not conform to the behaviors of this world, but to focus on changing the way we think. If you think lust and corruption, and surround yourself with such things, then you produce lust and corruption. If you think holy and righteous things, and surround yourself with holy and righteous things, then you produce holy and righteous things. To have a mind surrendered to Christ is to have a renewed mind that results in Holiness and results in being able to hear the voice of God and know his will and his direction for your life. It is not God's desire for us to die in our sin so let us daily surrender our hearts and mind to the Lord so we aren't drawn toward that which is unclean but instead transformed by the power of God so we can carry out his will for our lives.

We read in chapter 15 more information about uncleanness and what was required concerning bodily discharges.
I appreciate the great insight that Pastor Blair has shared again. “If you think holy and righteous things, and surround yourself with holy and righteous things, then you produce holy and righteous things.” This comment reminded me of Philippians 4:8. Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things. Another verse that I want to share is Colossians 3:2. Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth.
Both excellent comments. Thank you for your insights. Jim I really want to focus on your verse, Colossians 3:2 Set your mind on things that are above, not on things that are on earth.
Here in my town of Katy, TX our entire city is praying for a miracle for Naomi Grace Mollon who had a near drowning accident Memorial Day Evening. Her prognosis is grim. Her brain is not showing any activity. This baby, 2 years olds, had her whole life ahead of her. A mommy and daddy, 2 sisters, and countless friends, family, and now strangers who love her dearly. We are praying for God to restore her fully. But if it is His plan for her to go home, to Heaven, I pray our community can set our minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth. That we can praise God for Naomi’s life and we praise God for His will for her.
