Greetings Friends! You all are so much appreciated!!
Leviticus Chapter 7 speaks of life.
When the people make an offering before the Lord they were instructed not to eat the fat or the blood. The fat was told in previous chapters that it is for the Lord and is to be a sweet aroma to the Lord. The blood is the life factor. The shed blood on the altar is the key factor for paying their Ransom or for forgiving them of their sins. The blood was to be respected of its purpose and they were not to eat it or drink it. To eat it is to show disrespect for its purpose and the Lord said that person should be cut off from the rest of the people.
It's kind of like Jesus. He shed his blood for us to save us. He paid the ransom. He came to give us Life by shedding his blood. To disrespect the work of Christ when he shed his blood to give us life is to be cut off from fellowship with the Lord. One is separated from God forever. Therefore hell is one's destination. God will not tolerate disrespect to the work of his son as he did not tolerate the Israelites disrespect to the blood that forgave them.

In describing the portion of the offerings which were to be given to the priests, God was showing the people how to help care for the men who cared for His house and ministered to His people. The New Testament teaches us that ministers should be paid by the people they serve (1 Cor 9:10). I like to think of it as blessing those that “feed” me. I know He blesses us so that we may bless others.
Just a note to say that I’ll be offline for a couple of weeks – still reading & studying with you but internet access may not be possible. Much love and blessings to you all.
I’m reminded of Hebrews 9:22 again today. “Indeed, under the law almost everything is purified with blood, and without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness of sins.”
