Good morning! Leviticus chapter 5.
If we do something wrong, even unintentionally and it's brought to our attention, so that we know it was wrong, we have to take responsibility. And in taking responsibility, with that comes taking the consequences of the sin. The hope that we have, regardless of the sin and consequences, is there is always forgiveness available through Christ. I John 1:9 “If we confess our sins, God is faithful and just and will forgive us of our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” Yes, we are forgiven, but often comes consequences which could mean humiliation. Sometimes it's just a matter of confessing it to God or a friend. Sometimes sin is exposed to the public and people get hurt by your sin. It may mean paying a fine or spending time in jail. Those are difficult consequences to handle. The good news is there's always forgiveness available through Christ. There's always a means for restoration and healing. God can change our circumstances. God can take bad and turn it into good. The thing I need to hear is there's always hope. I'm Not always proud of the things that I say, think or do. I feel like I take the same sins before the Lord. I'm not giving up. I will continue to claim victory in Christ which means continual confession and trusting for victory in overcoming the sin.

I was reminded today about Jesus being our high priest. Hebrews 4:14-16 “Since then we have a great high priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus, the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession. For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who in every respect has been tempted as we are, yet without sin. Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.”
Without defect…
I was just thinking how difficult it “could have been”,
let’s say I have a flock or herd…and I need to sacrifice, I don’t want to give up my best animal, I’ll sacrifice this weak animal instead.
Remember: Acts 5 Ananias and Sapphira withholding money .
And we know what happen to them, they lied and died on the spot , it’s easy to hide things from everyday people, but Jesus sees all I do.
And when God speaks we are not to question. sacrificing the best animal shows that you do as you were commanded. Give your best, for the Best
The trespass offering differs from the sin offering in that it deals with specific sins rather than man’s sin nature. Because man can never make restitution to God for his sin nature, no restitution was required for the sin offering. The trespass offering, however, offered for specific sins, carried with it a 20% penalty. It wasn’t given to punish God’s people but rather to free them from the guilt of failing to deal openly and honestly with the people they wronged. Confession is an important part of forgiveness … not because God needs us to confess but because we need to confess.
It’s a loving Father who tells us restitution is required in order to restore a relationship. That’s why Jesus said even if we know our brother has something against us, we’re to make it right before continuing in worship (Matt 5:23,24). Lord, search my heart and show me who I need to forgive and make it right once more.
