Leviticus chapter 4.
When it comes to the forgiveness of sins there must be an atonement which is without defect and there must be shedding of blood. When Adam and Eve fell into sin God already had prepared a way for forgiveness. Shedding of blood through animal sacrifices what's his temporary solution but His greater plan was to offer his son Jesus who willingly went to the cross. He was without defect and he shed his blood for the forgiveness of sins once and for all. This is important for all to know for all have sinned and face physical and spiritual death. Knowing this, should make me want to share the good news of Christ with whoever God puts in my path. I often let fear or my busy schedule keep me from even trying to share Jesus. I am confident that God could use my actions and words to help point people to his son. I confess that I need the help of the Holy Spirit to get me outside my comfort zone so I can be used to reach the Lost. Have we received Jesus into our lives for the forgiveness of sins? What are we doing to help point other people to Jesus? How are we loving people?

Amen, Pastor Blair. Sin kills. It was literally our sin placed on the Lamb of God that killed Him. I too pray that He will give me boldness to open my mouth so that His Holy Spirit can give me the words to share His truth.
The sin offering was a required offering to atone for sins committed unknowingly where restitution wasn’t possible. While different animals were sacrificed depending on who committed the sin, the sacrifice for a priest’s sin and the entire nation’s sin were the same. It reflected the enormity of the responsibility for those in spiritual leadership positions. We need to continually remember our pastors and spiritual leaders in our prayers – not only are they accountable to God at a different level but they are prime targets for the enemy’s barbs.
In v35, the Hebrew word used for “atonement” means “to cover”; in the New Testament the Greek word translated “atonement” means “to reconcile”. Amen and thank you, Jesus!
I can’t think of anything to be more thankful for than the forgiveness of our sins. Praise be to Jesus!
How blessed are we to have a God so loving that sin no longer separates us from Him! He loves us so much, and will keep on loving us, no matter what. Now does that mean we continue to live in sin? Of course not, we must free ourselves from the binds of sin so we can live the most wonderful life that God wants to give us. But when we do stumble and when we do fall, just like the Israelites had the sin offering, we have the ultimate sacrifice of Jesus, to cling to, for He gave up His life, on that old rugged cross, so that we could LIVE. Amen.
