Exodus chapter 19.
This chapter reminds me of the song Our God is an Awesome God. Words can't describe His awesomeness for it will always fall short. As I read this chapter some things that stuck out to me that depict his awesomeness are:
1. We can't approach God in arrogance as if we can live however we want and he won't care. God does care.
3. God calls us to approach Him in humility and brokenness.
3. God does not mess around. He is powerful beyond powerful. We can't stand against him. We should respect Him and even fear Him because his judgments are fair and we will get what we deserve.

Verses 5 & 6 stood out to me today as God spoke to Moses and told him what to say to the people. “Now therefore, if you will indeed obey My voice and keep My covenant, you shall be My treasured possession among all peoples, for all the earth is Mine; and you shall be to Me a kingdom of priests and a holy nation.”… There are rewards for choosing to follow the Lord, but there are also consequences for choosing not to follow Him.
23 Moses said to the Lord, “The people cannot come up Mount Sinai, because you yourself warned us, ‘Put limits around the mountain and set it apart as holy.’”
this verse stuck with me…. yeah, we all know what you said to do God ..were good
God basically says, I’ve seen your track record….I’m just going to remind you to tell the people again so “we” don’t have a whole lot of death at the foot of mt Sinai.
Brian I am really glad you pulled out the verse, “Put limits around the mountain and set it apart as holy.”
This verse makes me think about myself and my fear of God and the way I conduct myself. Do I put limits in my own life that show how much I respect and love God? Do I stand “set apart” from those who follow a sinful life and what society says, or am I risking my heavenly eternity by not limiting the choices I make with what I say and do?
Many Christians in my life justify choices that we see In the Bible as wrong, by saying our God is a loving, forgiving, and understanding God… but I also think it is vital for us to remember He is an AWESOME God that needs our respect and devotion to a life of faithfulness.
