Noah was inside the ark for about 5 months and it says, “But God remembered Noah!” What a refreshing thought. How many times I have been trapped inside an unpleasant situation and feeling abandoned or wondering where God is. Yet, just as God loved Noah and God remembered Noah, so God remembers me!! God remembers us and all our circumstances and wants to intervene.
1. The day God remembered Noah it was actually another 7 months before God actually delivered him out of the ark.
2. God intervenes but does so at his timing. During the time he is spending with intervention God is using time for teaching us what we need to learn and equipping us with tools for survival in Ministry.
3. I might feel trapped within an ark but God remembers me. He is intervening even now, at the time he actually delivers us could be several days or months or years. But the time between his initial intervention and his actual Deliverance is time used to teach us and equip us for what he has for us. This means it could be painful and He may see we are in need of patience and perseverance.

The lyrics of this song may seem humorous, but it does make me think about what it could have been like on the ark with all of those animals for all of that time. My youngest child enjoys playing with legos. I think about him when I watch this music video and also because his name is in the song.

I love today’s passage as God poured so much into it for us. I also love that verse, Blair, where God remembered Noah. The Hebrew word for wind is ruach which is also translated as Spirit. The Spirit moved across the water-covered earth and land became visible just like He did at creation. Then what was the first thing Noah did when God told him it was time to leave the Ark and go forth and be fruitful on the earth – did he rush into action & works? No, he worshiped God. That is the highest, most precious ministry we can perform. The Ark rested on the 17th day of the 7th month. This month became the 1st month in the Hebrew religious calendar when the Jews were delivered from their Egyptian bondage. The 14th day of the 1st month is Passover – also when Jesus was nailed to the cross. The 17th day of the 1st month is the day that Jesus rose. Coincidence? – not even close. Everything points to Jesus our Savior! PTL!
I love your Jewish insight!!!
Thanks for sharing about the significance of the 17th day of the 1st month. I never paid attention to that or even knew about that connection before. That is so interesting and true that everything points to Jesus!
Isn’t it amazing that the more we study His word, the more He shows us. I enjoy hearing others that can tie one section of the Bible to another section. It’s all there … but my retention skills aren’t what they once were.
