Micah Chapter 7. Light versus Darkness.

The things that dishonored God with the nation Israel are happening today in our nation. People are doing evil. Rulers demand gifts. People are accepting bribes. A Man's enemies are members of his own household. Children dishonor their parents. Such people are living in darkness. Deliverance occurs when people walk out of darkness and into the light. Evil is in darkness and Jesus is the light and where there is light there is righteousness and holiness.
II Thessalonians 2:10b-12 says, “They perish because they refuse to love the truth and so be saved. For this reason God sends them a powerful delusion so that they will believe the lie and so that all will be condemned who have not believed the truth but have delighted in wickedness.”
John 3:19-20 says, “This is the verdict, light has come into the world but people loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil. Everyone who does evil hates the light and will not come into the light for fear that their deeds will be exposed.”

The key is to stay connected to Christ through the word of God that brings truth and life and righteousness. But once we take our focus off the source of light, which we find in God's word, we begin to walk in evil. Then we begin to compromise our faith. Then we begin to accept behaviors that we never would have before. Being in the Word will become less and less important as does surrounding oneself with Christian fellowship.

Let us be a light in the dark world. Our presence automatically brings conviction to those who are not walking in the light. Two things can happen:
1. We are a target of ridicule, which is okay, because that means God is working in their life and Satan is not wanting to let this life go.
2. People are going to turn to Christ.
Matthew 5:16 says, “Let your light shine before men so that they will see your good deeds and praise your father who is in Heaven.”
Let us persevere by walking in the Light of Christ so that others might come to know him.
