Amos Chapter 6. Complacency and Pride will kill one's Faith every time.

Israel became complacent with their walk with the Lord. They no longer pursued him with all their heart. In fact, they didn't pursue him at all. They became full of pride. They had experienced great success and gained fine homes, fine food, and fine possessions. Their pride resulted in themselves giving glory to themselves and did not giving Glory to the Lord. They were no longer concerned with the needs of the hurting. Life for them was so good, why be concerned with others?
Questions:
1. Are you complacent with your faith walk with the Lord?
2. Has pride seeped into your life?  Does God get all the glory for the blessings of your life or do you like to pat yourself on your back and enjoy others patting your back as well?

When it comes to one's faith, complacency and pride will always result into a broken relationship with God and a decreased concern for others. It will result in an increased focus on self. Sadly, it will result into God's discipline or wrath.

CHALLENGE:
Let God grab your heart so that you are consumed with your relationship with him so that the existence of pride or complacency is eliminated from your heart. As a result your love for God increases along with your desire to help those in need. Be thankful for any blessings God gives you to the point that you use it to become a blessing to others.  Give God all the glory versus patting yourself on your own back.
