Amos Chapter 3. I've got to get rid of my god's!
God speaks against Israel because of their sins and assures them that when he punishes them, their gods will be destroyed.
So what is our god? What have we exalted above the Lord? What grasps our heart and attention? What addiction? What relationships? What hobby? What toy? What? What? What?
God wants to knock down our gods so nothing is hindering our relationship with him. Nothing! I've said this before, don't wait for God, out of his love, to tear down our gods. It will hurt! Get rid of them now before the Lord intervenes.
God, forgive me when I let my heart pursue other things or other people over you. Forgive me and strengthen me to do what is right in your sight.
