Amos Chapter 2. Injustice is everywhere.

Some of the things Israel was doing or not doing that brought God's judgment includes the following: Injustice to the innocent, the poor, the needy, and the oppressed. Am I any better?
1. Injustice to the innocent often occurs when the guilty has popularity or power and is able to persuade others, or manipulate others, to go against the innocent. I see this in politics but also in everyday living. A man was in a car accident and the guilty person bribed a bystander to say he witnessed the innocent person as the guilty party. Do we really want truth or do we try to manipulate things so that we benefit at the cost of someone else?
2. Injustice to the poor. This one is hard because there are poor people who ask for money all the time and lie about their circumstances. I have helped a poor person several times but have much less desire to help those who lie about their circumstances.
3. Injustice to the needy. I feel Karin and I both are sensitive to the needs of others and have given financially or given of our time to help.
4. Injustice to the oppressed. Who are the oppressed? Is it the divorce man or woman trying to raise children on their own? Is it struggling families in the ghettos? Is it some of the homosexuals or trans genders who are struggling to figure out who they are? How can we come alongside struggling groups of people and help them without accepting behavior that goes against God's laws? God, I continue to make myself available to be used by you in new ways. Help me be more aware of the needs around me and then help me help them for your glory and for your kingdom.
