Hosea Chapter 6. “Come, Let us return to the Lord.”

This chapter starts off with seven words that we all need to take heed to:
“Come, let us return to the Lord.” God says that he will revive us and he will restore us. “Why? It's our lives. We can live it however we want.”
No! The Scriptures say differently. 2 Corinthians 6:19-20 says, “Or do you not know that your body is the Temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and that you are not your own. You have been bought with the price [the price is Jesus's life: physical beatings and physical death]. Therefore glorify God in your body [live it for him and not for yourself].”

1. You see! We didn't create ourselves, God created us and brought us into this world.
2. He created us for a purpose:
    • A. To love Him because He first loved us (I John 4:19).
    • B. To be holy because God is Holy (Isaiah 19:1-2).
    • C. To walk in obedience to his word, doing his will and not our own (Matthew 7:21 & Luke 11:27).
3. Anything less than these three things is in need of God's intervention in order to restore us to his designed purpose.
The restoration process is often a very painful process. He allows us to go through broken times in hopes that we realize our need for him:
* Our need to put 100%  reliance upon him.
* Our need to repent and turn away from sin.

Once we repent and begin to walk in holiness with the Lord, obeying his word, we are restored. There's freedom in walking with Christ. We are no longer bound by sin and trapped into addictions.

Today is a new day. Let's make a conscious decision to walk in holiness and obedience to God.
“Come, let us return to the Lord!”
