| Jeremiah Chapter 43. Don't live in fear for what God is calling you to. Jeremiah, after telling the army men in Judah that they must not go to Egypt or they would die, was ridiculed by the army men and called a liar for saying such things. The men were arrogant and were dead set on going to Egypt. So they took all the people in Judah that were left there and left for Egypt. After arriving in Egypt, God spoke through Jeremiah saying, God told you to stay in Judah where you would be protected and flourish. But you feared that the Babylonians would come and kill you or take you captive. Now God is saying to them that the very Babylonians they feared would now end up attacking Egypt and either killing all the people or taking them captive. God is not a God of fear. Wherever he calls us, we don't have to live in fear for he will accomplish what needs to be accomplished. His name will be lifted up. We can't let fear keep us from moving forward in doing God's will: Fear of the unknown. Fear of what may happen to us. Fear of failure. We must step out in faith, trust God and don't fear. Where is God calling you? What is he asking of you? Are you willing to be obedient or disobedient? |
