Jeremiah Chapter 26. I Am Willing!
God instructed Jeremiah to be his messenger of Truth. What God instructed Jeremiah to do, would we be willing to do it?
1) Jeremiah was asked to go to a place and share God's truth. It was at a location where many people would hear his words. He was not put into a place of isolation to speak but amongst the people. Where has God called us to go? Are we willing to go wherever he calls us? Where you are at today is the place he has called you to be a light in a dark world. If he called you someplace else, would you go?
2) Jeremiah was instructed to speak God's truth and not to omit a single word of it. Are we willing to speak God's truth? Do we tend to water it down so we don't “offend” anyone? To speak his truth in love is what will help people see the errors of their ways. They can only repent from that which they know is wrong. To water down the truth only gives the impression that what they are doing is not really sin and therefore have no need to repent. They can't repent from that which they feel is not wrong.
3) Jeremiah was willing to die for the Lord! Are we? Or does the thought of any type of persecution only silence our message?
A friendly reminder: God's truth must be presented in love so people's hearts are open to hear your message. If your approach is to present it in a condemning way, then you will push people away. Let your life be your first way of presenting God's love and truth. Then let your words be your second way of presenting God's love and truth. Remember the Holy Spirit is working in and through your life and goes before you in ministering to those around you. Do not fear! The Holy Spirit is with you.
