Jeremiah Chapter 15. You mean I have to suffer?
God declares four types of deaths against his people because they have backslidden and rejected him. Jeremiah prays for God's care and protection because he's in great pain because the people are attacking and threatening him. God says he will protect Jeremiah so that Jeremiah will overcome them and will deliver him from his enemies.
Living for Jesus can be a rough road. 2nd Timothy 3:12 says, “In fact everyone who wants to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted.”
Am I willing to suffer for Jesus? Or at the first sign of persecution, do I fold and crumble and hide my faith and deny my Lord? God says he will be with us but also says we will face trials and tribulations and that we will be hated by many because of our faith. But he also says persevere to the end!! He'll help us be overcomers and the reward is great: eternal life with God in heaven. In Matthew 10:22, Jesus says, “And you will be hated by all on account of my name, but it is the one who endures to the end who will be saved.” So let us love love love Jesus. Let us love love love others with the love of Jesus. But never let us compromise our faith so that we end up diving into worldly pleasures. May we never LOOK like the world, but may we be IN the world as a testimony for Jesus.
