Jeremiah Chapter 9. Did you learn that at home?
Jeremiah the prophet speaks God's words to Jerusalem. God declares that there is so much sin against one another that nobody can trust anybody. Amongst the people were habitual gossip, deception, and lying. They were raised in this environment so that it became natural for them to do these things. And then they became stubborn when challenged to change their sinful ways.
What was my environment like that I was raised in? What became natural for me that it took or takes the power of God to help me break from it?
As a parent, what environment did I raise my two daughters in? What things have they learned from me that they need the Holy Spirit to help them repent and become more Christ-like?
It's humbling to have to admit I'm not perfect and there's so much God needs to help me with because of my stubborn heart. God please forgive me of my sins and have mercy on me. Give me the deep desire to change where I need to change. And help my family to be so in tune with you that their lives are forever changing For Your Glory. Amen!
