Jeremiah Chapter 7. I never said you could do that!
God confronts Judah for their detestable acts. Then confronts their attitude because while sitting in the place of worship, they act as if God doesn't care about their detestable acts.
God warns of his coming wrath but knows they won't listen.
People even offer their own sons and daughters as sacrifices to a false god. God says I never commanded that they do this nor did it even enter my mind as an option.
What sins am I committing and then act as if it's no big deal?
What sins am I committing in my thought life or my actions that God would say I never commanded that you do this, nor did I ever think of it as an option?
Lord, please empower my thought life that it too would be pleasing to you! I desire to be holy and blameless in all aspects of my life but confess I can't do it on my own. I need you!
