Jeremiah chapter 4. Are you going to do it or not?
God starts with this chapter by saying if you're going to return to me, then do it! Don't just say you're going to and then don't . Don't do it haphazardly: I'll change in this area but not in this area. I'll stop sinning in this area but I don't want to give up control in another area.
Get rid of your evil heart and wicked thoughts the Lord says. Quit playing games. Your hidden thoughts and desires are hidden from the world but God sees it all. He wants all of our hearts and not just a portion. Surrender it all to him.
Quit putting desires or actions before God. He wants to be a part of every aspect of our lives so he gets all the glory and praise. Failure to rid oneself of evil is to face the wrath and anger of God. It will come. You can bet on it. And when it comes, he says, it will be our own fault. God loves us and needs a holy people who are truthful and just people in their ways (verse 2).
Either let God remove the unholiness from your life or
face his wrath and risk being forever removed from his holiness with your life.
Let your relationship with God through Jesus be real.
