Isaiah chapter 22. Living in Fear.
Jerusalem is living in fear and there is a prophecy against Jerusalem because:
1) They're living their lives focused not on God but on worldly pleasures.
2) When the enemy attacks, they have no confidence in self or in God. In Fear they flee from the enemy forces rather than attacking the enemy in the power of God's might.
3) The leader of Jerusalem thinks his life will go on as he planned and he never seeks the plans of the Lord. Therefore God says he will strip him of his leadership and hand it over to someone else.
What would God prophesy about me?
1) Am I more focused on the pleasures of the world than I am a growing relationship with God through Jesus Christ?
2) Am I so disconnected with the Lord that I live in fear? Or do I stand confidently in the power of the Holy Spirit who empowers me to live a victorious Life?
3) Is God trying to accomplish something through me for his kingdom? Am I too busy pursuing my will for my life rather than God's will? Have I surrendered everything over to Him? Or am I too busy trying to live my life and my plans? Have I no fear of God that he may humble me by replacing me with someone who will follow Him for the purpose of the Kingdom?
