Isaiah Chapter 17. Where do you get your confidence from?
There is a prophecy against Damascus that it will become a heap of ruins.  Isaiah is a prophet and we will continue to see prophecies against cities and Nations because of their disregard for the Lord.
I thought of the word CONFIDENCE.  I don't want to push God aside in any area of my life. I want him to be head of every thing I say or do. I want him to have control in my life. Here's my fear: What areas of my life do I feel confident? What areas of my life do I not feel confident?
My fear is that where I feel confident, is the area I'll feel I don't need the Lord. I mean, I would never say, “I don't need God in this area because I'm so good at it” But I would / could easily find myself being self-reliant where I am no longer depending upon him. “I got this!”
Remember, be confident in the Lord. God wants us to feel confident but not confident in self but confident in him. We must continually realize it is by his strength and his abilities that we are able to do well in our gifted and talented areas. Never lose focus on who gets all the glory and praise. If you're a great athlete, give God the glory. If you're a great teacher, give God the glory. If you're a great __________________(you fill in the blank), then give God the glory.
Challenge:
What can you give God glory for? Remember, “Not by my might not by my power, but by God's spirit! Zechariah 4:6.
