Isaiah chapter 8. Holiness results from a transformation in one's life.
God uses the prophet Isaiah as a sign to the nation who has rejected God. God has him marry and have kids who are used to warn the people that Assyria will bring total destruction on Israel and will take all the nation's wealth and plunder.
God said it doesn't matter how great of a plan they come up with, destruction will fall upon them.
The people have forgotten that God is Holy, therefore the people are to be holy but because they refuse to, they will face great destruction.
They seek counsel from spiritists and mediums and not God. Therefore:
They will face such great destruction darkness and gloom.
They will become famished and enraged and blame God verses taking responsibility for their own choices.
CHALLENGE:
— We must recognize God is Holy and therefore we are to be holy.
— If we choose the pleasures of this world versus obedience to God and his Word, then don't complain of the disaster in one's life. — Take responsibility for your own actions and quit blaming God or others.
— Repent and be saved through a relationship with Jesus Christ who transforms us through his Holy Spirit.
— Quit seeking counsel from people or spiritists or mediums.  Instead seek God always first. Trust him to guide your life.
