Isaiah Chapter 6. Send me Lord.
The Lord has seraphim's flying in the midst of Isaiah the prophet while saying “Holy Holy Holy is the Lord God Almighty”. Isaiah recognizes that he's in the presence of the Lord and he fears he will be destroyed because he is an unclean person in the midst of a Holy God. But God touches the lips of Isaiah the prophet through the seraphim and tells him that he is clean and redeemed, forgiven. At that point the Lord asks who will go for Him and preach the good news to the nation.
Isaiah, who was unclean, but now forgiven, says that he will go and preach the good news to the lost.
So God sends him.
We can learn a lot from this short chapter.
God wants to use us to share the good news of Christ. Who is he looking for?
1. Someone with a broken heart who recognizes they are sinners.
2. Someone who accepts God's way for redemption and forgiveness, which is through Christ Jesus.
3. Someone who is willing to go regardless of their skill-set or popularity or academics.
I Corinthians 1:26-29 says, “Brothers and sisters, think of what you were when you were called by God. Not many were Wise by human standards. Not many were influential. Not many were of noble birth. But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise. God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong. God chose the lowly things of this world and the despised things and the things that are not to nullify the things that are, so that no one may boast before Him.”
CHALLENGE:
God wants to use you today. Confess you are a sinner. Receive forgiveness of Jesus. Let God know you are willing to be used. He will equip you and use you.
