Song of Solomon Chapter 5. Be Intentional.
In this chapter you get the impression that this young couple are very much in love.
I think of the days when I dated my spouse. We wanted to be together as much as possible. I'd think of excuses of how I could see her. I'd go out of my way to try and see her even making sacrifices, giving up other responsibilities.
Now we are married. I don't want our marriage to be mundane. I find it takes commitment to maintain the acts of love.  One must be intentional and not let the busyness of life interfere with the acts of love.
I find myself wanting to make sure I hug and kiss her goodbye everyday. To try and spend each evening with a walk at the Edinboro Lake where we talk or just be together. I have to make sure her daily events are asked about and then listen to her on how her day went. I can't let myself sink into this mode of thinking that what happened to me during the day is somehow more important than her day. I must be intentional with helping with chores around the house, such as: if she cooks, I clean up. Fold laundry or even do a load of laundry. Help clean. Be intentional means dropping all my self pleasures or needs so I can invest in her pleasures or needs.
CHALLENGE:
Be intentional in showing your love.
