Song of Solomon Chapter 1. How Well am I Doing?
There were five themes that captured my attention in chapter 1 as it related to the relationship between the young man and woman. I will mention each theme followed by questions challenging my self-awareness of my relationship with my wife.
1) The man and woman compliment each other. Am I more apt to compliment my wife OR am I more apt to criticize her? I can never compliment her enough therefore I could do a better job at it.
2) The woman longs to be with him.  Is my heart inviting to Karin? In other words do my words and actions increase her desire to want to be with me or would she just assume not?
3) Her friends delight in her love relationship. Do others envy our relationship and want to exemplify it? Or are they not really all that impressed?
4) Both are hard workers. Yep!
5) He makes her a very nice gift.  What does my wife like?  If I know what she likes, then how often do I surprise her with such gifts?
MY PERSONAL CONCLUSION: I could do a much better job than I already am.
