Ecclesiastes Chapter 8. Your plans or God's plans?
Verse 7 and 8 talks about how no one knows the future so no one can say what is to come. No one knows when their time of death is coming.
This made me think of James Chapter 4:13-15, when it tells us not to boast about what we are doing today or tomorrow because we don't know what will happen today or tomorrow. We are better to say, “If the Lord wills we will do this or that.”
We are wise to plan for tomorrow but realize God has his plans for our lives. I often have made plans only to have something come up and change the plans. I can get frustrated and complain or I can say, “Okay God, this is your day. Let me accomplish what you want me to accomplish.”
My change of plans have resulted in me being able to help people in need who I  otherwise never would have reached out to if God had not redirected my plans for the day.
I remember having to take a detour, which took me out of my way for where I was going. It took me where God needed me. I remember during the detour I saw someone I knew who needed help. I stopped and got to speak with him and pray with him.
God sometimes uses the change of plans as a way of testing our faith and to help us grow. Do we pass the test by saying, “I Trust You Lord despite the change in my plans.  I want your plans over mine.” Or do we fail the test by whining and complaining and getting upset? I've done that a time or two.
CHALLENGE: if your plans get changed, go to God with Thanksgiving trusting he'll accomplish either something in you or even through you. Also, try and take advantage of every opportunity to love God, love your family and love others. You never know when God will call you home. Be ready at all times.
