Proverbs Chapter 30. REALLY??????
This chapter reminded me of the Book of Job when there was a discussion on how nobody compares to God almighty.
This proverb points out how our knowledge falls ever so short of God's knowledge. Shame on me if I think I have even attained to His knowledge.
REALLY????? Do I dare try and compare myself to a God who runs the world and all creation?
Then the proverb says, God, only give me what I need so I don't become arrogant and end up disowning you.
It's possible that each of us could become good at something. Even to the point that others compliment us. If we even dare conclude that somehow it's based on our own power, we could easily turn away from God thinking we're something when in reality apart from God we're nothing. If God was to strip away his power in and through our lives we would become dead. If He was to stop the air from flowing into our mouths and noses we would be non-existent. Shame on me when I think I'm really something on My own strength. Let me forever give praise and glory and honor to the King of Kings and the Lord of lords.
My significance is because of him. Any power that I have is from him. Any gifts that I have are from him. Thank you Jesus for grace and mercy because I deserve nothing but you're willing to give me so much including salvation through Jesus your Son.
CHALLENGE:
Make a list all your positive qualities and when you're done remember this: it's because of God that you have them and nothing because of your own doing or your own strength.
