Proverbs Chapter 25. I love good news.
Verse 25 says, “Like cold water to a weary soul is good news from a distant land.”
At age 3 I fell through a hay shoot and cracked my skull. I was unconscious or in a coma for 3 days. When the doctors told my parents that I was going to be okay, I'm sure it was a great relief.
When you find out a loved one was in a car accident, you wait with great anticipation to hear if your loved one is okay. And when the news comes that they are all right, your soul becomes relieved.
We live in a life that faces hardships. They are common for all of us. No one is exempt from it. The good news, God is with us through them all to teach us, equip us, make us wiser, stronger, more of faith, more like Jesus. But when you go through the hardships, unless you exhibit faith, it's easy to feel abandoned by God. As we lose focus of God, then it's easy to begin to feel hopeless. We can't let our feelings dictate truth. We must let the word of God, regardless of our feelings, dictate truth. Keep the faith! No matter what, keep the faith. Then when good news comes, we can rejoice and be relieved. But what if bad news comes: The death of a loved one, etc. Then what? Still keep the faith, God is still with us and still available to be our comfort, our refuge and our strength Psalms 46:1.
He will help us get through even the bad news and still give us hope for the future.
God is with you.
CHALLENGE: Whatever the news, trust God and know that he will get you through whatever the hardship is you are facing. Don't give up!
