Proverbs Chapter 19. Friendships!
This chapter mentions different aspects of friendships.
I'm forced to think of what I value when it comes to friendships:
1. I like friendships where both people invest into each other.
2. I like friendships where both have a heart for the Lord and share similar beliefs.
3. I like those with joking personalities or someone who has the humor similar to mine (you can be the judge if that's good or bad, lol).
Then there are those friendships that God puts into my path. They don't have a lot of friends but are just as important as anybody else. They desire love and attention just like anybody else.
1. I remember in first grade, a kid in Special Ed who had no shoes but wore slippers. He asked me in gym class if I would be his friend. I said yes.
2. I became friends with Steve from college, who had a disease that slowed down his thinking process.
3. It's important to become friends with the annoying person who doesn't seem to have any friends. The ones that seem to drain you emotionally but are in great need of love and mentoring.
4. Then there's the friendship that continually challenges you. We all need that friend who's not afraid to point out our weaknesses, hopefully in love, which helps us become a better person. It can hurt sometimes, so I hate it. But it makes me a much better person, so I love it.
CHALLENGE: There are certain friends that you seem to enjoy more. But I have found that God's call on our lives it's not just to always be with those that we call Our Best Friends because there's a great number of people crying out for love that deserve our attention. Sometimes we have to sacrifice being with the ones we love most so we can be with those who need us most.
I love you guys and appreciate your friendships so very much!!! I need you guys!
