Psalms Chapter 107. Tell your story!
Prayers continue. You all are a Blessing!
In this psalm, the people are told to give thanks to God because of His love which endures forever. So many experienced God's intervention and redemption and they were told to share their story. The rest of the chapter gives examples of how Israel rebelled against God, were isolated from God with great distress, then they called on the Lord and He saved and restored them.
Examples of such redemption include those who were:
1. Hungry and thirsty near death.
2. Locked in prison and utter darkness.
3. Afflicted with sickness.
4. On ships with devastating waves.
5. Fruitful land turned into total dry desert.
Each example is followed by a redemption story. After each redemption story 4 times a verse is repeated that says:
“Let them give thanks to the Lord for his unfailing love and his wonderful deeds for mankind.”
May we too also stop and give thanks to God because of his unfailing love for us.
May we too share our story of how we cried out to God and he heard us and redeemed and restored us.
There were times during our marriage that we were suffering greatly because of limited funds. Many times God miraculously provided for us out of nowhere.
There were times in our marriage when we needed a vehicle and God provided by impressing upon someone's heart to donate a car to us. Three times this has happened in our lives.
The list goes on. I have a prayer sheet of requests that I have written down after individuals shared their requests with me. Overtime the sheet has become filled with many answered prayers.
As verse 2 says, “Let the redeemed of the Lord tell their story….”
